A guide to the PCB factory unit
If you were to rip apart any electronic device we use in today’s world, you will get a lot of smaller parts integrated inside that would make it a whole unit. One of the parts of the devices is the printed circuit board or PCB. Over time the usage of this board increased and that has swollen up the establishment of PCB factories across the globe. But before you start talking about this, do you know what PCBs are and what all steps are taken to create one?
What are PCBs?
PCBs are also known as printed circuit boards that are used in almost all the electronic devices that are going to be used in today’s world. The application of a PCB is highly volatile as it can be used in multiple places for multiple things.
Lets, check out the steps that are involved in manufacturing PCBs:
● Designing
Manufacturing is a very precedential part that comes later in the process. The first thing that all the manufacturers do is design the board. According to the use and size of the device, it is going to be integrated into, the manufacturer's design accurately. This works as the base process of getting a PCB created.
● Printing
Once the design is created, the next step is to print the design using some special printers named plotted printers. These printers produce or create a film that shows the finest of details that are marked on the PCB.
● Substrate
The next step that is taken to create a PCB is to create a substrate. This is an automatic process that happens after printing. In this, a form starts to get created which is also the insulating material holding all the components of the board together. Most manufacturers use copper to pre-bond both sides of the layers.
● Printing the inner layers
Post the substrating step, the inner layers are printed that helps in laminating the board. There are a lot of photo-reactive chemicals that are used on the photosensitive film to prevent it from any harm.
● Surface finish
After this, there are a few small steps that are taken by the manufacturers and the final amongst them is the surface finish. In this, all the solderable finishing is given to the product before integrating it.
This might not be an extensive guide but it covers all the important steps that are involved in the manufacturing process. The article educates people to know more about how to get a perfect PCB done.
